Fees: Adult Pointe Work Class

from 185.00

Pointework Course for Adults
Date: Every Wednesday
Time: 20.00 - 21.30
Venue: Dance House, Foley Street, Dublin 1

Level: Beginners/Improvers

This class caters for absolute beginners, as well as more experienced adult dancers who wish to either start dancing on pointe, or who wish to improve their pointework skills.

The first half hour of each class consists of pre-pointe foot and ankle strengthening, as well as conditioning barre-work specific to starting and improving pointework.

The second half hour consists of learning classical ballet repertoire variations designed to show off strong feet and ankles, that in turn also strengthen dancers’ feet and build more advanced pointe skills (that can be danced in either flat or pointe shoes). Students will also learn variations from Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle and La Bayadere over the course.

Fees: €210 per full term (13 week course) Student Rate: €185 per full term

OR take advantage of the Dance House Package Deal: Repertoire Company AND Pointe Class Full 13-week Term Combined Fee: €385 (Students €350)

Drop-in classes ongoing are discouraged as the Pointe programme requires consistent weekly work and homework for the training to be effective. However one-off drop in fees are €15 per class.

Pointe shoes are optional. Absolute beginners don't have to use pointe shoes; strengthening work and/or repertoire can be done in soft ballet shoes as the dancer wishes. If you do have pointe shoes you can certainly work in those.

We strongly advise booking a space in all classes as early as possible, as the studio space in Dance House is limited.

The new Dance House Adult Ballet term commences:
29 April to 16 July 2019.
